We are committed to using only cruelty-free materials and here are the reasons why:

Animal Cruelty Millions of innocent animals are killed primarily for their skin each year. Leather is not always a by-product, it is not always produced in efforts to minimise waste but because it is a highly profitable business. Animals often suffer from confinement and deprivation as well as cruel treatment during transport and slaughter. Besides cows and lambs, other animals such as deers, pigs, goats, cats, dogs, snakes and crocodiles are also among the victims of the leather industry.

Environmental Pollution In order to turn animal skins into leather, a treatment called 'tanning' is required. This treatment process uses heavy chemicals as well as large quantities of water to permanently alter the protein structure of the skin to make it more durable and less susceptible to decomposition. The chemicals pollute the air, soil, rivers and groundwater which affect both human and animal population.

Overproduction is a serious issue that is not being discussed enough. According to United States Environmental Protection Agency, around 13 million tons of clothing and footwear were produced in 2018 in the United States alone. 1.7 million tons were recycled, 2.2 million tons were incinerated with energy recovery and 9 million tones ended up in landfill.

We care not only about animal welfare but also the environment, and therefore we are committed to designing and producing responsibly to reduce our impact on the environment. Currently all our items are handmade in south east London. Each item is thoughtfully designed, and made with love and care.

Majority of fashion items including clothing, handbags and jewellery are individually packaged in clear plastic bags after production to protect them from getting dirty or damaged during shipment from the manufacturer to the retail store or warehouse. These plastic packaging materials are usually single-use, non-recyclable and non-biodegradable, and most likely end up in landfill or the ocean.

We do not want to contribute to this horrifying plastic pollution so we pack all our products in a reusable dust bag or recyclable tissue paper, and we use paper stuffing only when necessary.

We currently do not use any plastic in our product packaging.

All our orders are shipped in 100% recyclable cardboard boxes or kraft padded envelopes which are filled with cushioning paper fibres instead of bubble wrap. Not only do the paper fibres provide outstanding protection but they are also made from 100% recycled materials. These padded envelopes are strong and tough, and can be re-used over and over again.

We encourage our customers to double check all product information (eg. materials, colour, measurements) before making a purchase to avoid returns which would waste resources from packaging and carbon emissions from shipping  transportation.

We might occasionally offer some special discounts but we don't do seasonal sales or take part in Black Friday because we don't want to encourage unnecessary consumption.
